Garrote: How to make this flexible weapon
As you know from the preceding self-defense tip, most flexible weapons are blunt, but the garrote is a flexible weapon that cuts like an edged weapon. It is easy to make in either the common version, with piano wire and metal handles, or the nonmagnetic version, with synthetic-fiber line and plastic handles weighted with lead.

There is more to the garrote than garroting — striking and catching limbs is also possible. Below is a brief video showing this weapon’s potential for self-defense:
The thicker the wire (or monofilament line), the stiffer and thus more controllable the garrote, making it more suitable for striking. On the other hand, the thinner the line the easier it is to conceal. It cuts easier, too. . . .
